Chicken Cooping

After watching a disturbing PETA video about the living conditions of chickens at egg farms, my wife and I decided maybe we would get some chickens. Lots of animals are mistreated in this world, and I suppose, mostly there is nothing much you can do about it, as an individual. Yet perhaps through this post, I might inspire someone else to keep chickens of there own, and in their turn, inspire someone else. I’m not saying everyone should keep chickens, but if enough of us tried to make a difference, in our own ways, perhaps the world would be better off.
So if you get some chickens, you need to keep them somewhere. I looked into ready built coops, and they started around $600. My wife convinced me to try and build my own, and I took the challenge. This is the result.
Wow, that looks awesome! I’m so impressed by your ability to build these kinds of things. Wish I could’ve been there to help!
Jen and I are so proud of you 🙂
I hope to come by and see it soon!
wow, i see you even put in a drip rail on the shingles, well done, love the splash of red, makes me want to be a chicken, such a simple life!
